The ACCP is:
- an on-campus space where video games can be critically explored, experienced, and understood in an Arts & Humanities context. A unique resource in Atlantic Canada that we hope becomes a regional hub for video game studies, welcoming speakers, hosting conferences, and organizing game jams.
- a playable (and growing) collection of video game hardware and software from the last 50 years.
- a place for research and exploration, a site for experiencing playable history and game-based learning.
- a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for a community motivated by curiosity, kindness, and compassion. Click here to read the ACCP Code of Conduct.(PDF)
- a place that facilitates collaborative critical thinking about an interactive media that is shaping the life experiences of many of our students.
How can I access the ACCP?
- The ACCP is not a service but a resource for unique, rare, and often fragile technological experiences, and thus access to this space and its holdings requires consultation and supervision. We work closely with each potential collaborator to ensure that we can best serve your research or pedagogical interests.
- Please contact us well ahead of the time that you require access the ACCP. For research projects, we recommend at least a month's notice, and for pedagogical uses, instructors should contact us the semester before their courses begin.
- We will do our best to facilitate all academic requests, but we are volunteer-run, and will consider applications for ACCP utilization on a first-come, first-served basis.
